JK Rowling is a genius.
I just finished Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I take my Harry Potter pretty seriousy so it would come to no surprise to anyone to know that I bawled after reading the last few chapters. Yeah that's right, I bawled.
If anyone reading this wishes to read further, please not that what I have written is pretty long winded and probably farfetched (and most likely doesn't make any sense) because I spent a good few hours thinking about the book (and rereading parts of the old books) after I finished.

I've only got about 200 pages left to read in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I've tried to stick to reading 2 chapters a night, and so far it's been successful ... but I know as I get to the end, I'll keep reading and reading because that's usually when it gets the most exciting. I'll probably finish it within the next two nights and that makes me sad :( I wish I had the option of Obliviating myself, being able to relive the magic of all 6 books all over again.

Rachael "EVOO" Ray has yet another new show called "Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels". And she's coming out with a magazine this fall ... just another two reasons for me to hate her.
Because not only does this bitch get to schmooz with the stars (albeit B-listers) and snoop around in their cupboards, she gets to travel the world to friggin eat. We ordinary people have to resort to Sbarros and other low-end Italian fast-food when she gets to go to ITALY to have lasagna. And what's worse is her gustatory pleasure is depicted by rolling her eyes in the back of her head after she takes a bite out of what she's eating for all of TV to see and envy.
Oh yeah, and the biggest reason why I hate her: it takes me 2 hours to cook one of her "30 minute meals." Although I'd have to admit I've never cooked one I didn't like .. and that's a lot coming from a person who frequenly burns water.
(Haha, I don't really hate her ... but godammit I want her job.)

We met Paul Feig!!
For those of you who don't know who Paul Feig is, he used to play some teacher on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And he was the co-creater for another show, Freaks and Geeks. But what he should better be known for is the books he's written: Kick Me: Adventures in Adolescence and Superstud: Or How I Became A 24-Year-Old Virgin. He is totally awesome (can't you tell from the photo above?), and I want him to do well, so here I am plugging him. Honestly these are GREAT BOOKS and thanks to Charisse for introducing me to them! And now I'm doing my visitors a favor (all 3 of you) by recommending them to you too! If you enjoy embarassing stories about a teenagers masturbatory skills, you'll love these books.

I have made two New Year's resolutions:
1. Eat one fresh fruit a day
2. Never ever again buy soda from a movie theater
I'm one who absolutely needs fizzy fountain soda and popcorn during a trip to the cinema. It's completely ridiculous how it costs $3.75 for a soda that's $0.89 cents around the block. All one needs is a waterproof tote to sneak that 89 cent sucker in, and voila, that's roughly $2.00 savings! I see many trips to the movies in my immediate future and this is one handy dandy tip I'm sure to apply!
Speaking of movies, my christmas vacation necessitated quite a few:
Lord of The Rings: Return of the King
Wow, this was such an awesome movie. That's surprising coming from me as I was never really into the whole LOTR-thing, but this one changed my mind about it. It was so awesome, that I'm actually willing to sit through another 3.5 hours seeing it again!
Paycheck
This movie was written by the same dude that wrote Minority Report. I guess I was expecting too much from this one, because I was slightly dissapointed when I left the theater. I blame it on Ben Affleck. Oh, and the orange fake-n-bake hue he donned throughout the movie.
Love Actually
Aww .. I really liked this one, and not because of the British accents (although that was a great bonus). It's a great date movie for the holidays. Though I have to complain about how short Rowan Atkinson's appearance was. He's listed as a main character! :(
The Last Samurai
This one was pretty good, although now that a few weeks have passed since I'd seen it, the only thing I remember is how annoyed I was at the idiot nearby who kept chatting on his cell phone during the movie! Teenagers.
Peter Pan
I love the concept of neverland, but the mild sexual undertone was uh, inconveniently appropriate. Buti it wasn't bad.
Elf
I've already raved about this one, but I must say it again: HILARIOUS! So hilarious I saw it twice. And accidentally spit soda on my companion both times.
Oh yeah, P.S. I start another dreadful quarter of school tomorrow. Weep.

I caught an screening of this movie tonight and let me warn the parents out there: This is not a movie you want to take your kids to. Have you ever imagined that a remake of a classic fairy tale would involve underaged partial nudity? Guess again! Oh and if you're anything like me, you should prepare yourself for VERY GRAPHIC feet shots. Gross!
Other than that, it wasn't too bad. The cinematography was great.

I saw this movie months ago when it first came out and I must say, I haven't laughed so much during a movie before and I haven't since then. It was so funny that I accidentally spit on my companion during one of my many bursts of laughter. An A in my book!

For the past week, I had been careful to avoid my dad's nasty bout of influenza by carefully disinfecting offending faucets, refrigerator handles, etc with rubbing alcohol. I've been spraying Lysol into the bathroom at regular intervals and was actually going to purchase something similar to a surgeon's mask or what those Chinese people donned during the SARS outbreak. Uhh ... yeah. None of that worked. I've got the flu. And it couldn't have come at a worse possible time, when it's bloody freaking hot out! This is just great. I can battle this nasty virus AND die of heatstroke at the same time. Huzzah!
Well, good news is I can catch up on loads of tv, and I have. I haven't picked up the remote control in months and was in awe of what I was missing.. namely the Nick and Jessica show on MTV. Previously, I detested every single thing on MTV (except for Punked, that Ashton Kutcher guy .. yaya um yeah YUM) but this show is good. Correction, it's train-wreck good (there is a difference). I love shows which prove that blonde pop stars are complete idiots. Whee! Chicken of the Sea .. LOL!!!

Due to the lack of anything to do in this bloody city, I've seen many, many movies lately. I'm no critic, but here are my two cents for what it's worth.
Freddy Vs. Jason
I usually find movies of this nature incredibly funny, and it lived up to my expectation. Fake squirting blood is soooooo hilarious. And the horribly bad acting is icing on the cake.
S.W.A.T.
Cop movies, as of late, have all been the same. But this one was different because uhh.. there's a hottie in it. Can you guess who? I'd like to "cop" a feel on that one. (I can never resist a stupid pun, my apologies.)
American Wedding
Half of the original cast is missing. Big dissapointment. Eh.
Pirates Of The Carribean
Oh, yes this is a good one. I recommend it simply because of Johnny Depp's performance.
Terminator 3
Despite the fact that Ahhnold is way past his prime, and despite the fact that James Cameron had nothing to do with it, it was surprisingly good.
Finding Nemo
There's a reason why this one is broke the ticket records ... absolutely adorable!
