The One Where It's Easter
I made an attempt to paint clouds on my ceiling yesterday. They look RETARDED!! They're all funky shaped and they're not even spaced out in a nice way. I wish I had my dumb digital camera working so I can keep a record of how it looked. It looks like someone took white-out and smeared it all over the walls in an odd circular motion (well that's basically what I did?). It's quite funny to look at, actually. Tomorrow I'm going to paint over it...oh I hope it doesn't end up looking even funkier because the blue that my dad had originally used for the walls ran out, so we had to buy another can, and I'm not so sure it's the same shade.
Yesterday I went out with my parents and my two aunts for dinner. Sometimes I forget how entertaining my relatives are. They kept cracking Filipino jokes the whole night. Well, they weren't really jokes, they were just making fun of their own accents and misunderstandings. My dad told us how he said yes to an order of "super salad" after a waitress asked him if he would like "soup or salad." And he also told us how his friend in the Philippines accidentally tried to eat a hot towel given to him on the plane, mistaking it for "an American version of lumpia (egg roll)." And, my aunt told this story about how one of her friends went to Orchard Hardware Supply store and asked for "roof." So the clerks were all like, "Roof?" And the friend kept saying, "Yeah, roof, I need some roof, where do you keep your roofs?" So the clerks bussled about, showed him shingles, and chimneys and whatnot. But the friend was like "NO, roof, you know, like string." HAHA, turns out he was asking for rope..BAHAHHAHAAAA...okay, I guess you had to be there...
So, today is Easter. We did nothing special. Just went to church where I almost passed out (could I be clausterphobic?), and then Chevy's afterwards for lunch. The workers there are sooo annoying. In the section my parents and I were sitting in, there were about a gazillion birthdays going on (about 3 or 4), and for some reason the workers just loooove scaring the shit out of the people in the restaurant. Every time they brought the birthday celebrant's hat and cake, some obnoxiously loud worker would yell really REALLY loud. I would literally jump out of my seat, heart racing, every time they did that. How annoying. Remind me that I never want to go to Chevy's for my birthday.
CD of the day: Vertical Horizon. It somehow matches this lovely Easter-spring weather.
